WellBeing

Wellbeing for people who are tired of being told to manifest their way out of burnout. This is about the unsexy stuff that actually helps. Sleep hygiene when your brain won’t stop. Boundaries that feel rude but aren’t. Therapy that challenges you instead of validating everything. The difference between self-care and self-soothing. How to exist in your body when it feels like a prison or a betrayal. Not toxic positivity. Not Instagram quotes. Just honest conversations about staying functional, mostly kind to yourself, and alive in ways that matter.

Grounding does not have to involve yoga, breathwork, or buying another course. In this article, I share eight simple, accessible grounding habits that support nervous system regulation without spiritual jargon or financial pressure. From sensory comfort and routine to movement, focus, and everyday anchors, these practices are designed for real life, not wellness aesthetics. Ideal for anyone who feels overwhelmed, burnt out, or resistant to traditional self-care advice, this piece offers practical ways to feel steadier using what you already have.

Healing rarely looks the way we expect it to. In this article, I explore seven subtle signs that you are healing, even when it feels like you are falling apart or standing still. From stronger boundaries and emotional awareness to discomfort with old patterns, healing often shows up quietly before it feels good. This piece offers reassurance for anyone who feels stuck, behind, or frustrated with their progress. Growth is not always visible, but that does not mean it is not real.

7 Signs You’re Healing Even If It Doesn’t Look Like It

19 January 202621 December 2025

Healing isn’t always calm or pretty. Sometimes it looks messy, slow, and uncomfortable, but it’s still happening.

The solo grocery shop is an underrated act of self-care. In this article, I explore why shopping alone can feel almost therapeutic, from moving at your own pace to making choices without commentary or compromise. It offers space to think, reset, and reconnect with your own needs, especially during periods of stress or emotional overload. This piece looks at autonomy, routine, and the calm found in ordinary moments, showing how something as simple as a quiet grocery shop can restore a sense of control and ease.

An Ode to the Solo Grocery Shop (& Why It’s Basically Therapy)

7 January 202620 December 2025

A solo grocery shop is quiet, unrushed, and oddly soothing. Just me, a trolley, and the freedom to choose in peace.

Traditional Chinese Medicine offers a holistic approach to healing that focuses on balance, prevention, and the body’s innate wisdom. In this article, I explore my experience with TCM and how practices like acupuncture, herbal support, and lifestyle alignment helped me understand my health differently. Rather than chasing symptoms, TCM looks at patterns, energy, and long-term wellbeing. This piece examines how Eastern medicine complements modern healthcare by encouraging patience, awareness, and a deeper relationship with the body.

Exploring Healing Through TCM

17 December 202514 December 2025

I didn’t find healing by forcing fixes. TCM taught me to listen to my body, slow down, and work with it, not against it.

Can you be allergic to a place, even when there’s no medical explanation? In this article, I explore the emotional, psychological, and nervous system response to environments that simply do not feel safe or aligned. From chronic stress and burnout to sensory overload and grief, certain places can trigger constant dysregulation. This piece looks at how intuition, mental health, and lived experience shape our relationship with place, and why leaving can sometimes be an act of self-preservation rather than failure.

The lessons that genuinely changed me did not arrive gently. They arrived via bad decisions, expensive mistakes, relationships that cost more than money, and situations I had to live all the way through before I understood what they were teaching me. This is about making peace with the price of growth, why the hardest seasons tend to produce the most useful wisdom, and how to stop resenting the tuition fees on lessons you needed whether you signed up for them or not.

Slow roasted tomato pasta. Yesterday, I came home Slow roasted tomato pasta.
Yesterday, I came home from a boring date, it was raining, so I slow roasted tomatoes until the whole place smelled incredible and I remembered that food has never once let me down.
There is something deeply meditative about slow roasting tomatoes in the oven, olive oil pooling, everything softening and sweetening and becoming more itself. No small talk. No performance. Just the kind of lunch that makes you feel like your afternoon is worth something.
Recipes are back.
Relationships are optional.

Leaving Adelaide? Easy. Leaving the people I love? Leaving Adelaide? Easy.
Leaving the people I love? Not even a little bit.

This city gave me what I needed – time to heal, to grow, to fall apart and rebuild in ways I didn’t expect. I’ve laughed until I cried in kitchens and gardens. Danced in my pjs, cried on couches, shared secrets over matcha and wine. Some of you held me through the darkest parts of my life. Some of you reminded me how it feels to be light again.

It’s time for the next chapter now. But my heart is heavy in the best way – full of every moment we’ve shared. I’ll miss you more than I can put into words xx

  • For a long time I thought being a kind person meant being available, agreeable, and easy to be around at almost any cost. It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise that kindness without boundaries is not generosity, it is self abandonment dressed up nicely. This is about learning to put the boundary first and letting the kindness follow, why the two are not in conflict, and what it actually looks like to be a warm person who also knows exactly where their edges are. Less martyrdom. More honesty. Still kind, just not at my own expense.
