WellBeing

Wellbeing for people who are tired of being told to manifest their way out of burnout. This is about the unsexy stuff that actually helps. Sleep hygiene when your brain won’t stop. Boundaries that feel rude but aren’t. Therapy that challenges you instead of validating everything. The difference between self-care and self-soothing. How to exist in your body when it feels like a prison or a betrayal. Not toxic positivity. Not Instagram quotes. Just honest conversations about staying functional, mostly kind to yourself, and alive in ways that matter.

Women have navigated perimenopause for hundreds of thousands of years. So why does it suddenly feel like a medical emergency in the modern West? This piece looks at the cultural panic around ageing women, the difference between Western and non-Western experiences of this transition, and what happens when you stop treating your symptoms as a deficiency and start treating them as information. A grounded, slightly sceptical look at what your body might actually be trying to tell you.

The Western Panic Around Perimenopause

11 May 20264 May 2026

I watched my TikTok algorithm panic about perimenopause for months. Then I started asking who actually benefits.

Somewhere along the way skincare got completely tangled up with anti ageing, and suddenly tending to your skin became coded as being afraid of your own face. In my forties, I love my routine and have zero interest in pretending otherwise, but I am also not at war with getting older. Caring for your skin is not the same as fighting time. This is about separating the genuine joy of a good routine from the shame spiral the beauty industry would prefer you stay stuck in, and building a relationship with your skin rooted in care rather than fear.

Loving Your Skin Doesn’t Mean You Hate Ageing

20 April 20264 April 2026

You can care deeply about your skin and still be completely at peace with getting older. These two things are allowed to exist at the same time.

Reflexology gets dismissed as a wellness trend, but what happens on that table is something else entirely. A skilled practitioner can read stress, inflammation, hormonal chaos, and emotional residue through your feet before you have said a single word. This is about what reflexology has revealed about my body that no blood test or GP appointment ever flagged, why the whole body connection is worth taking seriously, and what it actually feels like to be read that accurately by someone paying complete attention.

She Read My Hangover Through My Feet and I’ve Never Felt More Seen

17 April 20264 April 2026

My reflexologist took one look at my feet and knew exactly what kind of weekend I had. No context given. No questions asked. Just knowing.

For a long time I thought being a kind person meant being available, agreeable, and easy to be around at almost any cost. It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise that kindness without boundaries is not generosity, it is self abandonment dressed up nicely. This is about learning to put the boundary first and letting the kindness follow, why the two are not in conflict, and what it actually looks like to be a warm person who also knows exactly where their edges are. Less martyrdom. More honesty. Still kind, just not at my own expense.

Boundaries Before Kindness

13 April 202611 April 2026

Kindness without boundaries is not kindness. It is people pleasing with a smile on it, and I spent years confusing the two.

There is a fine line between leaning into your astrology and letting it write cheques your nervous system cannot cash. As a Pisces, I have used my sign to explain away some genuinely questionable decisions, and at some point that stops being self awareness and starts being a cosmic excuse note. This is an honest and slightly self roasting look at the moments my star sign got the better of me, why we need to stop outsourcing our accountability to Mercury retrograde, and how to enjoy astrology without letting it run the whole show.

Let’s Not Get Pisces-ed Away

10 April 20265 March 2026

Sometimes my Pisces Moon energy is a gift. Other times it has completely got the better of me and I have the situationships to prove it.

Somewhere along the way I decided I was not a dancer, and I let that stop me from moving with any joy for years. Then I started dancing badly on purpose, in my kitchen, in my lounge room, while Lulu watched with the contempt only a hellspawn black cat can muster, and something shifted. This is about reclaiming movement without performance. What happens when you stop waiting until you are good enough to enjoy something. The strange, specific freedom of being terrible at something with your whole chest and doing it anyway.

Dancing Badly on Purpose: A Reclamation

30 March 20262 March 2026

Bad dancing in the kitchen with a judgemental black cat watching is somehow the most freeing thing I have done for my mental health.

There is a reason so many women joke that their personality is being tired and in pain. We have been taught since childhood to swallow anger, smooth things over, stay small and manageable and easy to be around. But that rage goes somewhere. It does not evaporate. It settles. This is an honest look at the connection between chronic stress, suppressed emotion, and the body finally sending up a flare. Not a medical lecture. Just a woman connecting some uncomfortable dots and asking whether feeling everything might actually be safer than feeling nothing at all.

The Rage You Swallow Turns Into Autoimmune Disease

23 March 20262 March 2026

The anger women swallow to stay palatable does not disappear. It goes somewhere, and your body keeps an honest record of all of it.

There is a specific kind of personal growth that nobody warns you about. The moment you stop being the victim in your own story long enough to ask whether you also played a part. This is not about blame or self flagellation. It is about sitting in the uncomfortable middle ground where two things are true at once. They were not great. You were not always great either. I write honestly about the patterns I spotted in myself, what I had to own, and why taking accountability without losing your self worth is one of the harder things you will ever do.

Maybe I Wasn’t The Problem, But Also Maybe I Was

20 March 20261 March 2026

Turns out the truth about who was the problem sits somewhere deeply uncomfortable in the middle, and I had to be honest about both sides.

Creating a sacred self-care space is essential for grounding, mindfulness, and personal well-being. Whether it’s a cosy corner or an altar filled with meaningful items, this space nurtures balance, peace, and spiritual connection. I’ll share how to design a personalised sanctuary that supports your energy, enhances self-care rituals, and fosters a deeper connection to yourself. Prioritise your well-being with a space that nourishes your mind, body, and spirit.

The Importance of Creating a Sacred Self-Care Space

9 March 202614 May 2026

I’ve learned that having a sacred space for self-care isn’t a luxury – it’s essential. Here’s how to create a space just for you.

Every January the pretty notebook comes out. By February it is under a pile of receipts and mild shame. If that is your experience, you are not bad at journalling, you are just using the wrong version of it. This is about ditching the format that never worked and finding the one that actually fits your brain, your schedule, and your particular brand of chaos. No morning pages, no gratitude lists, no aesthetic requirements. Just honest, accessible ways to start processing your life in writing without it feeling like homework.

Lol, Turns Out I Journal After All

6 March 202619 April 2026

Turns out I have been journalling for years without calling it that, and it is nothing like the aesthetic nonsense I was resisting.

Self-care does not have to happen in a spa-like bathroom with candles and curated lighting. In this article, I explore normalising everyday beauty rituals in public spaces, including doing gua sha at the bus stop. From lymphatic drainage and facial tension relief to making small moments count, this piece challenges the idea that wellness must look aesthetic to be valid. Skincare can be practical, portable, and woven into real life. Sometimes self-care fits between errands and public transport.

Yes, I Do My Gua Sha at the Bus Stop

25 February 202621 February 2026

If I’ve got five spare minutes and a jaw that’s tense, I’m doing my gua sha at the bus stop. Multitasking queen.

Personal growth is important, but it should not consume your entire identity. In this article, I explore how to heal without turning self-improvement into a performance or brand. From therapy language creeping into every conversation to constant introspection fatigue, healing culture can become overwhelming. This piece looks at balance, boundaries, and knowing when to live instead of analyse. Growth is valuable, but so is humour, pleasure, and being a full human beyond your wounds.

How to Heal Without Making It Your Entire Personality

23 February 202621 February 2026

Healing is part of my life, not my whole identity. I refuse to make self-work my entire personality anymore.

Slow roasted tomato pasta. Yesterday, I came home Slow roasted tomato pasta.
Yesterday, I came home from a boring date, it was raining, so I slow roasted tomatoes until the whole place smelled incredible and I remembered that food has never once let me down.
There is something deeply meditative about slow roasting tomatoes in the oven, olive oil pooling, everything softening and sweetening and becoming more itself. No small talk. No performance. Just the kind of lunch that makes you feel like your afternoon is worth something.

Leaving Adelaide? Easy. Leaving the people I love? Leaving Adelaide? Easy.
Leaving the people I love? Not even a little bit.

This city gave me what I needed – time to heal, to grow, to fall apart and rebuild in ways I didn’t expect. I’ve laughed until I cried in kitchens and gardens. Danced in my pjs, cried on couches, shared secrets over matcha and wine. Some of you held me through the darkest parts of my life. Some of you reminded me how it feels to be light again.

It’s time for the next chapter now. But my heart is heavy in the best way – full of every moment we’ve shared. I’ll miss you more than I can put into words xx
