A hair change is never really just a hair change. It is a declaration. A quiet, slightly dramatic announcement to yourself and everyone around you that something has shifted and you are no longer interested in looking like the person you were before. This is about the psychology behind why we reach for the scissors or the colour when life gets complicated, what it actually means when a new cut makes you stand differently, and why changing your hair is one of the most underrated forms of self authorship available to any of us at any given moment.

Change Your Hair, Change Your Life

Burnout does not arrive dramatically. It creeps in quietly until one day you are staring at a simple task like it is written in a foreign language and you cannot remember what it felt like to not be exhausted. Recovery is not a weekend off or a wellness retreat. It is slower, less aesthetic, and considerably more boring than anyone on the internet makes it look. This is the practical guide to actually recovering, what helped, what was useless, how long it really takes, and why the most important thing I did was stop pretending I was fine before I actually was.

A Very Practical Guide to Recovering from Burnout

Every time a woman does not report what happened to her, someone asks why. The answer is not simple, not comfortable, and not something that reflects on her. It reflects on the systems, the cultures, and the rooms full of people who made it clear, long before she ever had to decide, that her account would be questioned, minimised, or used against her. This is an honest and unflinching look at the real reasons women stay silent, written without judgment for every woman who made that calculation and chose to protect herself instead.

Why Women Don’t Report It

Life has a way of making us practical, serious, and quietly joyless. In this article, I explore how to reclaim whimsy through small, everyday moments that make life feel lighter. From wearing the good shoes and feeding birds to buying fresh flowers or dancing in the kitchen, these tiny acts can shift your mindset without requiring a complete life overhaul. It is a guide to embracing curiosity, playfulness, and delight, proving that growing up does not mean giving up your sense of wonder.

The options are right there, rotating past on a little conveyor belt of possibility, and yet somehow you end up sitting across from someone who leads with their gym routine and calls it personality. Bumble promised us agency and delivered us a paradox of choice with worse outcomes. This is an honest, slightly exhausted, occasionally funny look at what dating apps actually deliver versus what they sell us, why having more options is not the same as having better ones, and what it feels like to swipe through the whole sushi train and still go home and make toast.

Bumble Is a Sushi Train and We’re All Going Home Hungry

Not every friendship breakup is dramatic. Sometimes you simply stop making the effort. In this article, I explore the quiet friendships we outgrow and the difficult decision to let them fade without resentment or conflict. From one-sided relationships and mismatched values to emotional exhaustion, this piece examines why some connections naturally reach their end. Letting go of a friendship does not make you cruel. Sometimes protecting your peace means quietly closing a chapter instead of forcing one more conversation.

Slow roasted tomato pasta. Yesterday, I came home Slow roasted tomato pasta.
Yesterday, I came home from a boring date, it was raining, so I slow roasted tomatoes until the whole place smelled incredible and I remembered that food has never once let me down.
There is something deeply meditative about slow roasting tomatoes in the oven, olive oil pooling, everything softening and sweetening and becoming more itself. No small talk. No performance. Just the kind of lunch that makes you feel like your afternoon is worth something.
Recipes are back.

Leaving Adelaide? Easy. Leaving the people I love? Leaving Adelaide? Easy.
Leaving the people I love? Not even a little bit.

This city gave me what I needed – time to heal, to grow, to fall apart and rebuild in ways I didn’t expect. I’ve laughed until I cried in kitchens and gardens. Danced in my pjs, cried on couches, shared secrets over matcha and wine. Some of you held me through the darkest parts of my life. Some of you reminded me how it feels to be light again.

It’s time for the next chapter now. But my heart is heavy in the best way – full of every moment we’ve shared. I’ll miss you more than I can put into words xx

  • For a long time I thought being a kind person meant being available, agreeable, and easy to be around at almost any cost. It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise that kindness without boundaries is not generosity, it is self abandonment dressed up nicely. This is about learning to put the boundary first and letting the kindness follow, why the two are not in conflict, and what it actually looks like to be a warm person who also knows exactly where their edges are. Less martyrdom. More honesty. Still kind, just not at my own expense.
