Beauty: 5 ingredient all natural face scrub

As someone with ultra-sensitive skin, I am always reluctant to spend money on products that promise to be “the one”, when in fact they are “the wrong one”.

I first saw this scrub on YouTube a few years ago and have been using this scrub ever since – it is completely natural with no harsh chemicals that can cause damage to the skin. Let’s have a look at the ingredients:

Sugar: Well, an exfoliant is needed to make it a scrub and sugar is a lot less harsh on your skin that salt. I find salt to be too abrasive, and rather than providing an enjoyable scrub, it’s almost painful. I use regular sugar for this, not caster sugar.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil: EVOO has been used for thousands of years for healthy skin; in fact timeless beauty Sophia Loren shared her beauty secret of bathing in olive oil for beautiful skin. EVOO is rich in vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, vitamin A and E. It is nourishing and hydrating, and helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Honey: We all know honey has antibacterial and antiseptic properties – perfect for fixing those blackheads. It also help to promote healing and is a wonderful, natural moisturiser.

Lemon Juice: LJ is rich in alpha hydroxy acids which helps remove dead skin cells. With dead skin cells out of the way you skin will appear brighter, and an uneven skin colouring will start to become more balanced.

Parsley: This herb contains vitamin C, manganese, calcium, and potassium, all of which is beneficial to your skin. For a full list of benefits of this underrated herb, click here.
