[The Style Edit] The perfect pink party dress

My very first newsletter went out today! Did you receive your copy? If not, feel free to subscribe so you don’t miss our on next month! It included some Instagram Featured Story covers, and some desktop desgins too!

Now, in case you didn’t already know, next Monday is my birthday  so it’s only natural that this month’s Style Edit will be all about party dresses.

If you know me, or are a regular reader, then you’ll know I am absolutely in love with pink and all things blush coloured, and so when asked by Quiz to choose my top three dresses from their collection I knew exactly what I was looking for!

Now, I haven’t had a birthday party in many years, but I’m ok with that. I will still always look at party dresses, party shoes, and then strut around my home, or the local watering hole, feeling absolutely glam, and this year is no different.

Because for our birthdays we deserve that stand out!

In fact, this year we’re planning a relaxing afternoon at my favourite pub just outside of Glasgow, which hugs the edges of a canal and is surrounded by lush greenery. The afternoon will be spent drinking cocktails, eating pub grub, and of course trying to prevent the family dog from going for a swim!

It’s actually quite strange thinking of spending my birthday outdoors – growing up in Sydney meant my birthday was always in the middle of Autumn! I’ve gone from grey skies and rain to, well, considering I know live in Glasgow it’s still grey skies and rain, but at least I’m surrounded by a beautiful abundance of wildflowers!

And being a Taurus, I’m all about natural beauty, and relaxing days surrounded by it!

But enough about me, let’s talk this month’s Style Edit.

I’m trying something a little different this month, a new look I’ve been pondering about for a while now. I would really appreciate your thoughts and feedback in regards to the new design and the changes I’ve made. After all, if you’re not happy, I’m not happy!

Shall we get into it?

The LACE Edit

Lace is one of those fabrics that is soft, sensual and evokes images of garden parties, and tea cakes. It’s incredibly feminine, especially when presented in a soft blush colour. Paired with pearls and simple accessories, lace is the only statement you need.

It’s your party and you’ll shine if you want to! Metallic anything is all about making a statement and declaring “I am here!” and given it’s your birthday, it’s all eyes on you. Dresses with metallic embellishments work best with geometric shapes, and when it comes to accessories, it’s hard to go wrong!

The KISS Edit

Keeping it simple doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice looking amazing. In fact, the right pieces pulled together make can make a huge impact and be just as much of a statement as lace or metallics. Kiss is all about you, absolutely amazing and owning it!
